The Scientific Committee invites you to participate in the Pre-Forum workshops on offer at. This year we have curated workshops to be offered Sunday 12 November from 3:00pm – 5:00pm and Tuesday 14 November from 7:00am – 8:00am.

Recommendations of an Assessment Review Panel

Overview:
Join a panel of experts, and a room full of fellow DCTs and MEOs to discuss some challenging JMO journeys and the possible recommendations from an Assessment Review Panel. The discussions will allow for reflection on consistency, calibration and collaboration across jurisdictions.

Teaching on the Run for JMOs

Overview:
Teaching on the Run aims to improve the practical skills, knowledge, and overall confidence of medical educators. This workshop will be geared towards junior doctors as our first line of medical educators who will have the opportunity to learn from one of the founding developers of the Teaching on the Run programs, Clinical Professor Fiona Lake from the UWA Medical School.

Breakfast Session: 
Decisions, decisions, decisions: How to make (“the best”) choice for your future career

Time: 7:00am – 8:00am

Overview:
Decisions are difficult! As doctors we are well trained to make clinical decisions and medical decisions and we rely on past knowledge, university degrees, qualifications, frameworks and evidence.  But what happens when we find it difficult to make a career decision? How do we best work through this indecision? This workshop will provide some structures, frameworks, practical advice and tips on how to prepare yourself for career success (Including how to MAKE a career decision, and how to thrive once the decision is made).

The breakfast session workshop is open to JMOs and will be facilitated by Dr Ashe Coxon, GP and Career Counsellor. Registration to attend this workshop is essential, the cost is included as part of your registration fee.
